The Power of Journaling: Why I Never Stop Writing
🖊️ The Power of Journaling: Why I Never Stop Writing 🖊️
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive
Hello, beautiful soul 💫
Let’s talk about something deeply sacred to me—journaling.
It’s not just a habit, and it’s not just a hobby. For me, journaling is a lifestyle.
A lifeline. A spiritual tool that’s been guiding my journey since
I was a child. Over the years, I’ve come to see it not just as a place to
record life, but as a place to transform it. Writing is my prayer, my therapy,
my anchor—and it may just be one of the most underrated tools for healing and
growth we have.
🧠 My
Memory May Fade, But the Pages Remember
There’s something you should know about me: I don’t have the
best memory. Never have. If I don’t write it down, it likely slips away into
the ether of forgotten thoughts. That’s been true since school, when I had to
jot down everything just to retain it. What started out as a necessity
became something more—a ritual, a rhythm of self.
Over the years, I’ve filled dozens of notebooks, journals,
planners, and sticky notes. They’ve become extensions of me. These pages carry
my thoughts, my breakdowns, my prayers, my dreams, and my breakthroughs. From
shopping lists and budget goals to late-night soul cries, it’s all there.
That’s the beauty of journaling: it’s your memory when yours
is fading. It’s your witness when no one else is around to see what you’re
going through. It’s your truth before the world adds its opinions.
🖊️ Pens
Are My Therapy, Too
Let’s talk about the joy of pens. I’m addicted—there, I said
it! But it’s deeper than just collecting ink and plastic. For me, different
pens match different moods. A smooth-flowing gel pen in midnight blue for
reflections. A hot pink fine tip when I’m in a sassy mood. Highlighters for
inspiration. Black ballpoint when I’m making lists and getting down to
business.
If you know, you know—it’s not just about writing, it’s
about feeling while you write. It’s about giving your soul a voice
through something as simple as ink.
Same goes for journals. Once I find a vibe, I want it in every
color. Every texture. Every version. Call it obsessive, I call it joyful. It’s
like curating a sacred space where my thoughts feel seen. Journaling is
both a creative and spiritual experience, and the tools matter. They set the
tone. They hold energy.
📓 My
Planner Is My Sacred Space
Every year around October, I start getting excited—planner
season begins. That’s when I go out and grab my Plan Ahead planner for
the coming year. (Yes, I have a favorite brand!) I take my time setting it up,
transferring over reminders, intentions, and milestones. It’s not just a
calendar—it’s my energetic blueprint for the year ahead.
Here’s a little of what I include:
- Bill
due dates and recurring financial reminders
- Moon
phases and important astrological events 🌙
- Anniversaries,
birthdays, and even death dates of loved ones
- Inspiring
quotes or scriptures that align with the season
- Personal
milestones—like the day I started my blog, or my spiritual rebirth moment
Some of these dates may seem trivial to others, but to me,
they are sacred markers of my soul’s journey. They represent growth,
loss, love, and legacy.
That’s the magic of journaling and planning: you decide what
matters. You get to document what the world doesn’t always celebrate. Your
inner life becomes valid the moment you give it space.
🔥 Write
It, Speak It, Burn It (Safely)
Sometimes the things we carry are too heavy to hold silently.
That’s where journaling becomes not just helpful, but essential. When
I’m overwhelmed or hurting, I sit down and write everything. No filters.
No worries about grammar or spelling. Just raw, uncensored truth.
And then? Sometimes, I burn it.
Yes, literally. Fire is sacred. It’s transformation. If you’ve
never written something that needed to be released—then lit a match and watched
the flames consume it—you’re missing a powerful ritual of healing.
⚠️ Of
course, please use fire safely and responsibly. Always burn outdoors, in a
safe container, and keep water nearby. This isn’t about destruction—it’s about
sacred release.
That process has saved me many times. Writing down my anger,
my grief, my confusion, and letting it go with intention has helped me move
through emotions I thought might break me.
🧍🏽♂️ A Word for the Skeptics
(Yes, Especially the Men)
I know some people still think journaling is “too emotional”
or “for women.” Let me say this plainly: writing things down is a strength.
It takes courage to be honest with yourself. It takes maturity
to process your feelings in a healthy way. Journaling doesn’t make you soft—it
makes you real.
So, if you’re skeptical, I challenge you to try it. Start with
ten minutes a day. Write what you’re grateful for. Write what’s frustrating
you. Write a letter you’ll never send. You might be surprised how freeing it
feels to have a space where you can be unfiltered, unedited, and unafraid.
✍🏽 Whether
It’s a Journal or a Napkin—Just Write
It doesn’t matter how or where you write. It could be:
- A
leather-bound journal
- A
planner
- A
free app on your phone
- The
back of a receipt in the car
- A
voice-to-text note when you're on the go
What matters is that you give your thoughts somewhere to
land.
Even a few words a day make a difference. Your journal becomes
a mirror, a time capsule, a prayer book, a therapist, and a best friend—one
that never interrupts and always listens.
🕊️ A
Sacred Reminder from Scripture
“Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.” —
Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV)
This verse reminds us that the visions we carry—the divine
downloads, the plans, the healing—need to be written down. There is power in
clarity. Power in expression. Power in making the invisible visible.
🌟
Affirmation of the Day:
“I honor my thoughts by giving them space to be
expressed. My words carry power, truth, and release.”
You don’t have to be a poet or a writer to journal. You just
have to be you. Start with a sentence. A thought. A feeling. Watch how
your inner world transforms the moment it hits the page.
🎶 Song of
the Day:
“Sunny Side Of Hell” – Grieves

here 🎧
This track is a reminder that even if you're walking through
hell, you're not standing still. You're moving. You're surviving. And if you
keep writing, you’ll one day look back and realize just how far you've come.
The fire didn’t destroy you—it refined you.
Until next time, keep rising and thriving—one word at a
time. 📝✨
