Finding Small Blessings in Exhausting Days
Welcome Back to AMC Rise and Thrive 🤍
Hey beautiful souls,
Some days are deeply spiritual in obvious ways. Some days
bring huge revelations, emotional breakthroughs, or life-changing moments that
feel impossible to ignore. And then there are other days that simply feel…
human.
Hot.
Exhausting.
Busy.
Sweaty.
Overstimulating.
The kind of days where you come home completely drained, stand
in front of a fan questioning your life choices, and realize your body is far
more tired than your mind expected. 😂
Today was one of those days for me.
I spent the day with my son at Worlds of Fun. We did his walk
and rode the rides he wanted to ride, which honestly was not very many. The
heat was intense. There was barely any breeze, barely any clouds, and it felt
like the sun had a personal issue with everybody in the park that day. ☀️
At first I did not think the park was too crowded, but the
second we got inside there were teenagers everywhere. And one thing I genuinely
do not understand is how so many of them were casually walking around in
hoodies while I felt like I was melting alive. Looking at them honestly made me
feel hotter. Meanwhile, I was over there sweating like my soul was trying to
leave my body.
We got everything done in a little over two hours, and
honestly, that was enough for me. I was completely wiped out by the heat. But
even in the middle of an exhausting day, there were little moments that quietly
stayed with me.
And sometimes that is how life works too.
Not every meaningful moment arrives through huge miracles or
dramatic revelations. Sometimes God places little reminders, unexpected
blessings, and quiet lessons inside completely ordinary days.
Sometimes the blessing is simply making memories with someone
you love.
Sometimes it is finding something you thought was lost
forever.
Sometimes it is realizing you survived a difficult day and
still found reasons to smile anyway.
I think there is something deeply spiritual about learning how
to notice the small blessings hidden inside everyday life. 🌿
Sometimes Love Looks Like Showing Up Anyway 🌻
One thing about being an adult is realizing that love is not
always glamorous. Sometimes love looks like doing things because it matters to
someone else, even when you personally are uncomfortable, tired, hot,
overstimulated, or ready to go home.
If I am being real, I was exhausted.
The heat drained me completely.
The second we got into the park, I already knew I was going to
feel it later. But my son was happy, and that mattered to me. We did what he
wanted to do, rode the rides he wanted to ride, and made the day about him.
And honestly, parenthood — and love in general — often works
like that.
Sometimes love looks like sacrifice.
Not dramatic sacrifice.
Not movie-scene sacrifice.
Just everyday sacrifice.
Giving your time.
Giving your energy.
Showing up when it would be easier not to.
Choosing patience when you are uncomfortable.
Choosing kindness when you are tired.
Those moments may seem small, but they matter deeply.
I think sometimes people underestimate the spiritual
importance of ordinary acts of love. We tend to think purpose only exists
inside huge accomplishments, but I do not believe that is true.
Purpose can exist inside tiny moments too.
Inside long car rides.
Inside theme park walks.
Inside listening to someone talk about something you are not
personally interested in.
Inside making memories while sweating through your clothes in
ridiculous heat. 😂
Sometimes people think spirituality only exists inside prayer
rooms, churches, meditation, or deep emotional conversations. But God can exist
inside ordinary moments too.
Inside laughter.
Inside exhaustion.
Inside showing up.
Inside shared memories.
Inside choosing connection over convenience.
And honestly, I think those everyday moments often become the
memories we hold onto the longest.
There was also something humbling about realizing how
physically exhausted I became from the heat. It reminded me that we are human
beings, not machines. Sometimes we push ourselves so hard mentally,
emotionally, and physically that we forget rest matters too.
The body speaks.
The nervous system speaks.
Fatigue speaks.
And sometimes wisdom is recognizing when your body needs
gentleness instead of pressure.
When I got home, I wanted one thing: air conditioning. 😂
I changed out of my sweaty clothes, stood in front of the fan,
and honestly felt grateful for cool air in a way only overheated people truly
understand.
There are moments when discomfort makes you appreciate simple
things more deeply.
Cold water.
A shower.
Rest.
Food.
Quiet.
Stillness.
Sometimes we move through life so quickly that we forget these
things are blessings too.
Unexpected Blessings Often Appear When You Stop
Searching ✨
One moment from today really stayed with me.
When I went through security at the park, I set off the metal
detector. I carry a very specific bag there, and honestly, if you know me, the
idea that I accidentally had a knife somewhere was not impossible. 😂 So they scanned the bag
and said they saw something that looked like one.
I ended up taking everything out, and there was a lot inside
that bag.
But no knife.
I think the scanner probably picked up my metal bandaid case
or something random. Whatever it was, there was no reason to get upset about
it. Sometimes little inconveniences are just little inconveniences.
But while emptying everything out, I found something
unexpected.
A gold electric lighter that I thought I lost about a year
ago.
And honestly? I had searched everywhere for that thing.
I looked through drawers.
Purses.
Jackets.
Rooms.
Random places that made absolutely no sense. 😂
And somehow the entire time, it had been sitting quietly
inside the bag that goes almost everywhere with me.
The second I saw it, I smiled.
Because life can be funny like that sometimes.
You search and search for something.
You stress about it.
You think it is gone forever.
And then one random moment later, when you are not even
actively looking anymore, it suddenly appears.
I think there is a spiritual lesson hidden in that.
Not everything lost is truly gone.
Sometimes things are simply hidden for a season.
Sometimes we overlook blessings because we are searching too
hard in the wrong places.
Sometimes what we need is already closer than we realize.
And sometimes God allows certain things to return to us at
unexpected moments simply to remind us that blessings still exist even after
disappointment.
Finding that lighter probably sounds small to some people, but
honestly it made me happy. Not because it was expensive or life-changing, but
because it reminded me how unexpected joy can appear in ordinary moments.
I think people spend so much time chasing massive
breakthroughs that they miss the quiet blessings scattered throughout daily
life.
A peaceful drive home.
A shared laugh.
A child smiling.
Cold watermelon after a hot day. 🍉
A shower after exhaustion.
Finding something you thought was gone forever.
Those moments matter too.
Sometimes joy whispers instead of shouts.
And if we are always rushing, complaining, or distracted, we
might miss it completely.
It’s Okay to Admit You’re Human 🌙
Something else I want to speak honestly about is the internal
battle I had while we were there.
Part of me wanted to ride roller coasters.
I kept thinking at least there would be airflow up there. 😂
But the day was centered around my son and what he wanted to
do, which was perfectly fine. Still, internally, I was struggling a little
because I was hot, tired, overstimulated, and honestly just wanted to sit
somewhere cold.
And I think moments like that are important to acknowledge
because sometimes people feel guilty for having human emotions.
But being loving does not mean you never feel frustrated.
Being spiritual does not mean you never feel selfish thoughts.
Being a good parent, friend, partner, or person does not mean
you never internally complain.
What matters is how you handle those emotions.
There is a difference between feeling something and allowing
it to control your behavior.
I think sometimes people become too hard on themselves
spiritually. They think if they get irritated, tired, frustrated, or
overwhelmed then somehow they are failing.
But emotions are part of being human.
Jesus Himself experienced exhaustion, grief, frustration, and
emotional pain.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is awareness.
Growth.
Grace.
Balance.
Self-reflection.
And honestly, I think it is healthy to admit when you are
tired.
Healthy to admit when your patience is stretched.
Healthy to admit when you are struggling internally while
still trying to show up lovingly externally.
That honesty matters.
Sometimes strength is not pretending everything feels perfect.
Sometimes strength is simply continuing to love people well
even when you are uncomfortable.
And after today, I truly realized how important rest is.
After I got home, ate dinner, and finally showered, my entire
body felt exhausted. The heat completely drained me. But there was also
gratitude there too.
Because not every day has to be extraordinary to still hold
meaning.
Not every memory needs fireworks to matter.
Sometimes an exhausting summer day becomes meaningful simply
because you shared it with someone you love.
And honestly? That is enough. 🤍

📖 Bible
Verse
Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
This verse feels especially meaningful today because sometimes
love, patience, and showing up for people can feel exhausting. There are days
when your body is tired, your mind is overwhelmed, and your energy feels
depleted.
But even in those moments, the small acts of love still
matter.
The effort matters.
The memories matter.
The presence matters.
And God sees the quiet ways we continue showing up for others
even when no one else fully understands the energy it takes.
Sometimes the harvest is not material.
Sometimes the harvest is connection.
Love.
Growth.
Memories.
Peace.
And moments that stay in our hearts longer than we realize.
🎵 Song of
the Day:
“The Climb” by Miley Cyrus 🎶✨
I chose this song today because it reminds me that life is
often more about the journey than the destination.
“The Climb” speaks about challenges, exhaustion, perseverance,
and continuing forward even when things feel difficult or uncomfortable. And
honestly, that connected deeply with how today felt for me.
Not every day is glamorous.
Not every day feels spiritually profound.
Some days are just hot, tiring, messy, overstimulating days
where you are trying your best to stay patient and present.
But even those days shape us.
The song reminds us that meaning is often found in the process
itself.
In the effort.
In the growth.
In the memories made along the way.
And I think that message matters because people sometimes wait
for giant milestones before allowing themselves to appreciate life.
But life is happening now.
Inside ordinary moments.
Inside difficult moments.
Inside sweaty theme park walks. 😂
Inside exhausted rides home.
Inside little blessings we almost missed.
So, if you get a chance, listen to this song today and reflect
on the journey you are currently walking through. Even if you feel tired right
now, your journey still matters.
Final Thoughts 🌙✨
As I sit here tonight reflecting on the day, I realize
something important:
Not every meaningful day feels magical while you are living
it.
Sometimes meaningful days feel exhausting.
Sometimes they feel uncomfortable.
Sometimes they leave you sweaty, overstimulated, and
completely drained.
But later, when you look back, you realize those ordinary
moments carried love inside them the entire time.
Today reminded me that blessings do not always arrive wrapped
in perfection.
Sometimes they arrive through unexpected discoveries.
Through shared experiences.
Through laughter.
Through patience.
Through simply showing up.
And sometimes the blessing is realizing you made it through
the day and still found gratitude somewhere inside it.
So, if you are currently in a season where life feels
exhausting, overwhelming, or emotionally heavy, I hope you remember this:
You do not have to force every day to be perfect in order for
it to matter.
There is still beauty inside ordinary life.
There is still meaning inside small moments.
There is still grace inside exhaustion.
And there is still God inside the middle of your everyday
experiences. 🤍
With love, light, and encouragement,
Angel 🤍
