I’m really glad you’re here today.

Wherever you are, whatever you’re carrying, whatever your day
looks like—I want you to feel welcome here. Not rushed. Not overwhelmed. Just

Today holds a different kind of energy.
It’s a day that many people celebrate in their own way. Some
gather with friends, enjoy good food, music, laughter… maybe even a drink or
two.
But for me—for my roots, my heritage—it carries something
deeper.
Today is Cinco de Mayo.
And while it may look like a celebration on the surface,
beneath it is a story of resilience… of strength… of a victory that wasn’t
expected.
And honestly?
That’s something we can all connect to.
So today, I want to sit with you in that energy—not just of
celebration, but of meaning.
More Than a Celebration—It’s a Reminder 🌿
When most people think of Cinco de Mayo, they think of
parties, tacos, music, and maybe a little tequila 😅
And while there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the day…
There’s also a story that deserves to be remembered.
Cinco de Mayo marks the victory of a smaller, less-equipped
Mexican army over a much larger and more powerful French force at the Battle
of Puebla.
Think about that for a moment.
A victory that wasn’t expected.
A moment where the odds were stacked against them.
A situation that, logically, should have gone the other way.
And yet…
They rose.
They fought.
They won.
And isn’t that something we all need to remember sometimes?
Because life doesn’t always feel fair.
Sometimes we feel outnumbered by challenges.
Overpowered by circumstances.
Underequipped for what we’re facing.
But this day?
It reminds us that outcomes aren’t always determined by what
things look like on the outside.
Strength, resilience, and belief can shift everything.
You Are More Powerful Than You Think 🕊️
There are moments in life where everything around you might
suggest that you won’t win.
That it’s too hard.
Too late.
Too overwhelming.
And maybe you’ve felt that.
Maybe you’ve stood in situations where the odds didn’t look in
your favor.
Where giving up would have been easier.
Where continuing felt like too much.
But here’s the truth:
Power isn’t always loud.
Sometimes power is quiet determination.
Sometimes it’s getting up when you don’t feel like it.
Trying again when it didn’t work the first time.
Holding on when everything tells you to let go.
The victory at Puebla wasn’t just about numbers or strength.
It was about spirit.
And that same spirit exists within you.
You may not always see it right away.
But it’s there.
Waiting for you to trust it.

As a Latina, this day hits differently for me.
It’s not just history.

hear it:

Fully.
Boldly.
Proudly.
My skin may be brown.
My heritage may look different from someone else’s.
But that does not make me less than.
And the same goes for you.
No matter where you come from.
No matter what you’ve been told.
No matter what the world has tried to make you feel.
You are not less.
You are not “too much.”
You are not out of place.
You are exactly who you were created to be.
And there is power in embracing that.
Because when you stop trying to fit into spaces that don’t

There’s also something else this day reminds me of.
And it’s simple… but important.
Celebrate.
Not just today—but whenever you can.
Dance.

Eat good food.
Be present with the people you love.
Because tomorrow?
It’s not guaranteed.
And I don’t say that to bring fear—but to bring awareness.
We spend so much time waiting.
Waiting for the perfect moment.
Waiting for things to calm down.
Waiting until everything feels “just right.”
But life doesn’t always work like that.
Sometimes the moment you’re in right now?
That’s the moment.
So enjoy it.
Not recklessly. Not without awareness.
But intentionally.
Gratefully.
Because joy is not something you have to earn.
It’s something you’re allowed to experience.
