Turning Up the Soul: How Music Gently Raises Your Vibration and Connects Us Across Time
Turning Up the Soul: How Music Gently Raises Your Vibration and Connects Us Across Time 🎶✨

Hello beautiful soul 🤍
I’m really glad you’re here today.
Whether you arrived feeling energized and inspired, nostalgic
and reflective, overwhelmed and weary, or quietly searching for comfort you
couldn’t quite name, I trust there’s a reason you found this message right now.
Nothing is accidental—not the timing, not the feeling that brought you here,
not even the song that may already be playing softly in the background of your
day.
So, take a moment.
Unclench your jaw.
Drop your shoulders.
Take a slow, intentional breath. 🌬️
Let your heart open just a little as we explore something
deeply woven into all of our lives: music.
Music isn’t just sound. It’s memory. It’s emotion. It’s energy
in motion. It’s one of the most gentle, powerful ways we connect to ourselves,
to one another, and to something greater than us. And today, I want to sit with
you in that truth—not rush it, not intellectualize it, but feel it
together.
Before we go any further, I want to start with honesty and
humility. I owe you a small apology. If you’ve noticed that I stopped adding
direct playlist links to recent posts, it wasn’t because music stopped
mattering to me—quite the opposite. My playlist became beautifully chaotic,
wildly out of order, and yes… my OCD was absolutely having feelings about it. 😅
Instead of fixing it with ease, it started to feel stressful.
Overwhelming. Like something that once brought joy was suddenly demanding
perfection. And so, instead of forcing it, I paused.
But here’s the important part: I never stopped believing in
the power of music. And I never stopped listening.
Music has always been a constant companion in my life. It
shows up when I’m sad and need comfort. When I’m mad and need release. When I’m
cleaning the house, working out frustration, cooking dinner, driving with my
thoughts, or standing alone in the shower where everything I’ve been holding in
finally has space to surface.
Music meets me wherever I am—and I know, deep down, it meets
you too.
What I hope today is simple: that you’ll feel encouraged to
truly listen again. Not just with your ears, but with your heart.
Because music doesn’t just fill silence—it carries memory, emotion, healing,
and connection across generations. It reminds us who we were, who we are, and
who we’re becoming.
🎧 Music as
an Emotional Translator
There are moments in life when words simply fail us.
Moments when emotions are too layered, too tender, too heavy,
or too complex to articulate clearly. When saying “I’m fine” feels easier than
explaining the ache underneath. When silence feels safer than trying to name
what hurts.
This is where music steps in—not loudly, not forcefully, but
faithfully—as a translator for the soul.
Whatever your mood, there is a song—or an entire genre—created
for it. Joy, grief, rage, hope, longing, nostalgia, faith, surrender. Music
doesn’t judge your emotional state. It doesn’t rush you to “feel better.” It
meets you exactly where you are. It validates you. And sometimes, almost
without you noticing, it gently shifts something inside.
I’ve learned this the hard way: when I resist my emotions,
they linger longer. They sit heavier in my body. But when I allow myself to
feel them—often through music—they move through me instead of getting stuck.
A song can help you cry when you’ve been holding it together
for far too long. 😢
Another can help you scream without hurting anyone.
Another can help you stand back up when you feel like you’re sinking.
Another can remind you who you are when you’ve forgotten.
Music is energy.
Vibration.
Frequency.
It quite literally moves through us—affecting our nervous
system, our breathing, our heart rate, and our emotional state. That’s why
certain songs calm us, while others energize us. Why some feel grounding and
others feel uplifting. When you choose music intentionally, you’re choosing how
you want to feel—and that’s a sacred act of self-care.
Sometimes raising your vibration doesn’t mean forcing
positivity. Sometimes it simply means allowing yourself to feel honestly, and
letting music walk you gently toward peace.
🎄 Music as
a Bridge Between Generations
This past Christmas Eve, as I was preparing dinner, I had my
Christmas playlist playing softly in the background. The kind filled with songs
from my childhood—the ones that feel like warmth, memory, and home. 🎄✨
As the music played, my mom smiled and said, “These are from my
childhood.”
And in that moment, something clicked.
These songs didn’t just belong to one era. They traveled. She
played them when I was young. They embedded themselves into my heart without me
realizing it. And now, decades later, they still live in me.
Music transcends generations in a way few things can.
Just the other day, I had random music playing when “Rock
the Casbah”—an 80s classic—came on. My son immediately started dancing. No
context. No explanation. No history lesson. Just pure joy and rhythm. 💃🕺
Watching him move to a song decades older than him felt like
proof of everything I believe about music. It doesn’t need permission. It
doesn’t need explanation. It just connects.
Music effortlessly links past, present, and future. A song you
hear today may one day remind you of a moment you didn’t even realize was
sacred until years later. Music becomes a time capsule—holding pieces of who we
were, who we loved, what we survived, and how we grew.
And isn’t that beautiful?
🌍 Music as
Collective Energy and Sacred Expression
I recently saw a video on Instagram of 1,000 musicians
playing a Nirvana song together. The energy was electric. Powerful.
Unified. Watching them move and create together reminded me that music isn’t
just personal—it’s communal.
Music brings people together in ways words sometimes can’t. It
dissolves barriers. It synchronizes hearts. It reminds us that even in our
differences, there is shared rhythm.
Even history reflects this truth. Ludwig van Beethoven—one of
the most famous classical composers of all time—was completely deaf by his 40s.
And yet, he understood the power of music so deeply that his work continues to
move people centuries later.
He didn’t hear music with his ears anymore.
He felt it.
He trusted it.
He created from something deeper.
There’s a scene in the movie Here Comes the Boom (yes,
a Kevin James movie I actually love 😄) that perfectly illustrates this. The
character fights MMA matches to save a school’s music program. In the final
fight, as he enters the ring, the music playing isn’t hype music—it’s the
children from the class he’s fighting to save. Behind him, a sign reads:
“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
It’s just a movie, but that moment was deeply touching. It
showed that what he was fighting for mattered. Music wasn’t an extra. It wasn’t
optional. It was essential.
And I believe that’s true.
Music is woven into history, our present lives, and our
future. Long after moments pass, songs remain. They remind us. They ground us.
They heal us. They help us remember what it means to be human.
🤍
Affirmations
Take a breath.
If it feels right, place a hand over your heart.
Let these words settle gently into you:
• I allow music to move through me and support my emotional
well-being.
• I honor my feelings and give them healthy expression.
• I am open to joy, healing, and connection through sound and rhythm.
• Music reminds me that I am never alone.
• I trust the memories and messages that rise when I truly listen.
📖 Bible
Verse
“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord,
all the earth.”
— Psalm 96:1
Music has always been sacred. A form of praise, expression,
and connection between heaven and earth. Long before playlists and platforms,
music was prayer.
🎵 Song of
the Day
“Music” by Erick Sermon feat. Marvin Gaye
(Explicit)
🎧 Listen and reflect
This song truly sums up everything music can mean. It
beautifully blends eras by featuring the legendary Marvin Gaye, reminding us
that sound carries legacy.
Every lyric reflects the truth that music isn’t just
entertainment—it’s memory, message, and movement. Each song carries something:
a feeling, a lesson, a reminder, or a moment frozen in time.
As you listen, notice what rises within you. A memory? A
smile? A sense of peace? That’s not random. That’s resonance.
🌟 Final
Thoughts
All I’m really saying is this: music matters. More than
we often realize.
So, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to truly listen to the
songs I add to each post. Let them speak to you in their own way. Let them meet
you where you are. Let them walk with you through joy, grief, healing, and
hope.
Many blessings to all who read this.
May you feel seen, supported, and deeply loved—exactly as you are.
With love, light, and gratitude,
