If I Live to Tell: The Wisdom We Carry and the Truth We Learn Along the Way

If I Live to Tell: The Wisdom We Carry and the Truth We Learn Along the Way

By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive

Hey beautiful soul 🤍

I’m really glad you’re here. Not just scrolling, not just passing through—but here, present, sharing this moment with me. There’s something sacred about that. Something intentional.

Wherever you are in your journey right now—whether you’re reflecting, healing, questioning, or simply trying to make sense of things—I hope this message meets you gently and honestly.

Take a breath. Let your guard down for a moment. You don’t have to have it all figured out here.

And I want to take a moment to truly thank you.

Life moves fast. Schedules fill up. Responsibilities pull us in different directions. There’s always something to do, somewhere to be, someone who needs something from us. And yet… you chose to pause. To sit here. To be present with me and these words.

That matters more than you may realize.

Because connection—real connection—requires intention. It requires us to slow down long enough to feel, to reflect, to receive.

So, thank you for making space.
Thank you for allowing these words into your moment.
Thank you for being here—not just physically, but with your heart open.

When a Song Becomes a Mirror 🎶

The other day, I was in the car, just going about a normal moment, when “Live to Tell” by Madonna came on. A song released back in 1986—something I heard when I was very young.

And instantly… I felt it.

Not just heard it—but felt it.

It pulled me back to an older version of myself. A version of me that didn’t know what I know now. A version that was still learning, still stumbling, still trying to understand the world and her place in it.

But at the same time, something was different.

I wasn’t just remembering—I was seeing it through new eyes.

It was like the song had changed… but really, it was me who had changed.

Isn’t it wild how life does that?

How something you’ve heard a hundred times can suddenly hit you in a completely new way because now you understand it through lived experience?

And it made me think about something that I’m sure many of us have felt at one point or another…

What would it be like to go back and talk to your younger self?

To look at them—not with judgment, not with regret—but with compassion?

To say, “I know you don’t understand right now… but you’re going to be okay.”

Would we try to protect them from every wrong turn?
Would we try to steer them away from every heartbreak?
Would we rewrite parts of their story to make things easier?

Or would we simply sit beside them… knowing that even the hard moments were shaping something meaningful within them?

Because here’s the truth that’s not always easy to accept:

Some lessons can’t be taught—they have to be lived.

You Were Never Meant to Stay the Same 🕊

There was a time in my life where just making it through felt like enough.

Where survival itself felt like an accomplishment.

Growing up where and when I did, life didn’t always feel long or guaranteed. There were realities around me that made the future feel uncertain. And because of that, I don’t take being here lightly.

I truly don’t.

Being here now—able to reflect, to speak, to share my experiences—it’s something I consider a blessing.

Because not everyone gets that opportunity.

And when you really sit with that truth… it shifts something inside you.

It softens you.
It humbles you.
It grounds you in gratitude.

You begin to see your life differently—not just the good parts, but all of it.

Even the messy parts.
Even the painful chapters.
Especially those parts.

Because the version of you from back then wasn’t meant to have all the answers.

They weren’t meant to see everything clearly.

They were meant to learn.

To grow.
To fall and rise again.
To make decisions based on what they knew at the time—even if those decisions led to lessons they didn’t expect.

And I know it’s tempting… so tempting… to look back and think:

“If only I had known…”

But that’s the thing—you couldn’t have known.

You were becoming.

And becoming requires experience.

It requires walking through things without a map sometimes. It requires trusting your steps even when you don’t fully understand the direction.

So instead of wishing you could go back and change things, try something different.

Honor the version of you who made it through them.

Because that version of you?

They carried strength you didn’t even realize you had.
They kept going when it would’ve been easier to stop.
They chose to continue, even in uncertainty.

And they brought you here.

Truth Isn’t Always Comfortable, But It’s Always Necessary 🔥

I’ve always been someone who speaks honestly.

And I’ll be real with you— it doesn’t always come out soft or polished. I’m not perfect in how I deliver things.

But I’ve learned something over time:

The truth isn’t always meant to be sugarcoated.

Sometimes, it needs to be clear. Direct. Real.

Because growth doesn’t happen when everything feels comfortable.

Growth happens when something shifts inside you.

When something challenges your perspective.
When something makes you pause and really look at what’s right in front of you.

And that doesn’t always feel good.

But it is necessary.

We live in a world where it’s easy to hear what we want instead of what we need.

But deep down, we can usually feel the difference.

We know when something is just comforting noise… and when something carries truth.

And here’s something I’ve had to learn within myself:

You can’t give advice and never take it.

It’s easy to guide others. It’s easy to see clearly when you’re not emotionally involved.

But applying that same wisdom to your own life?

That’s where real growth begins.

There have been moments where I’ve had to stop and check myself.

Moments where I realized, “You already know better… so why aren’t you doing better?”

And that awareness… it humbles you.

It brings you back to a place of honesty.

Because growth isn’t about perfection—it’s about alignment.

It’s about recognizing where you are… and being willing to shift when you know something needs to change.

Truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, is what moves you forward.

Your Story Was Meant to Be Shared, Not Hidden 🌱

One thing about me—I’ve always had random information in my head.

Facts, insights, little pieces of knowledge I couldn’t always explain where they came from.

And this was before everything was just a quick search away.

Back then, you didn’t just “Google it.” You learned things differently. You paid attention. You absorbed what you could. You figured things out as you went.

Now, information is everywhere.

And that’s a beautiful thing.

We have access to knowledge in ways that previous generations couldn’t even imagine.

We can connect with people across the world. Share ideas. Learn. Grow.

Even something like this blog—if this was 20 years ago, these words wouldn’t reach nearly as many people.

But now?

We’re connected.

And with that connection comes responsibility.

Because just because information is available doesn’t mean understanding is automatic.

You still have to engage with it.

Reflect on it.
Question it.
Explore it.
Feel into it.

Make your own decisions.

And that’s why I share what I share.

Not because I expect you to take every word as truth—but because I hope it sparks something within you.

A thought.
A question.
A moment of clarity.

Something that leads you to your own understanding.

Because your journey is yours.

Your healing is yours.

Your growth comes from what you choose to do with what you learn.

And sometimes… hearing someone else’s truth gives you the courage to face your own.

Affirmations 🌿

I honor the journey that shaped me into who I am today.
I am open to truth, even when it challenges me to grow.
My experiences hold wisdom, and I trust what theyve taught me.
I release the desire to change the past and embrace the power of the present.
I use my voice and my story to bring light, understanding, and healing.

Bible Verse 📖

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Jeremiah 29:11

Even when we didn’t understand the path… God did.

Every moment that felt uncertain, every lesson that felt heavy, every season that didn’t make sense—there was still purpose unfolding beneath it all.

Not always easy.
Not always clear.

But always intentional.

🎵 Song of the Day 🎶

“Live to Tell” by Madonna

🎧 Listen here

This song carries a quiet depth that only reveals itself fully with time.

It speaks about hidden truths, lessons learned through experience, and the weight of what we carry inside before we’re ready to face it.

At its core, it’s about survival—and reflection.

About realizing that life teaches you things you couldn’t have understood when you first began the journey.

There’s a vulnerability in the lyrics—a sense of holding onto something meaningful, something learned, something that changes you.

And that line— “Hope I live to tell…”—it lands differently when you’ve lived through moments that could have gone another way.

It becomes less about fear… and more about purpose.

Because if you did live to tell…

Then your story matters.

Then your voice matters.

Then what you’ve learned wasn’t meant to stay hidden—it was meant to bring light, clarity, and maybe even healing to someone else.

So, if you haven’t heard it in a while, listen again.

But this time… listen as the person you are now.

You might hear something completely new.

Final Thoughts 🌙

There’s a version of you that didn’t know what you know now.

A version that made choices based on what they understood at the time. A version that walked through life without fully seeing what was ahead.

And instead of judging that version…

Honor them.

They carried you here.

They survived what needed to be survived.
They learned what needed to be learned.
They became who they needed to become—so you could be who you are today.

Your story isn’t something to hide.

It’s something to understand.
To grow from.
To share when the time feels right.

Because there is power in truth.

And there is healing in being seen—first by yourself, and then, when you’re ready, by others.

Keep growing.
Keep reflecting.
Keep choosing truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

You’re not behind.
You’re not too late.

You are exactly where your story is unfolding. 🤍

With love, always,
Angel

And if this message spoke to you, I invite you to sit with it for a moment longer.

Let it settle. Let it breathe within you.

Maybe journal what came up. Maybe reflect on a version of yourself you haven’t fully honored yet. Maybe even listen to the song and allow whatever emotions rise to simply be there—without judgment.

And if you feel it in your heart, share this message. Not because you have to—but because someone else might be in a moment where these exact words meet them right on time.

There is something powerful about shared truth.

And there is something beautiful about trusting that what is meant for you—and through you—will always find its way.

Life doesn’t unfold on our timeline. It unfolds in divine timing.

We can’t force it. We can’t rush it.

But we can stay open.
We can stay present.
We can stay aligned with what God is gently unfolding in our lives.

And that… is enough. 🤍
