Finding Breath Again: The Healing Power of Presence, Nature, and Remembering Who You Are
Finding Breath Again: The Healing Power of Presence, Nature, and Remembering Who You Are 🌊✨
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive
Hey beautiful soul 🤍
I’m so grateful you’re here with me. Truly.
Out of everything you could be doing, everywhere your
attention could be pulled, you chose to pause… to sit… to receive. And that
choice matters more than you know.
Life gets busy. Heavy sometimes. Full in ways that don’t
always leave room for stillness. We carry responsibilities, emotions,
expectations—both spoken and unspoken. And in the middle of all that, finding
time to simply be can feel like a luxury.
So, I want to say thank you.
Thank you for making space for this moment.
Thank you for allowing yourself to slow down, even if just for a little while.
Thank you for being open—not just to my words, but to whatever they might stir
within your own heart.
I don’t take that lightly. And I hope, in some way, this
message gives something back to you.
When Life Slows You Down Just Enough to Feel Again
🌿
Today, I’m writing from a different space—mentally,
emotionally, and physically.
We made it to Florida.
And let me tell you… the journey here? It wasn’t exactly
smooth.
There were unexpected delays—like an entire interstate being
shut down. At one point, it took us an hour and ten minutes just to go two
miles. Two. Miles. 🚗
There were countless stops, and what felt like an overwhelming
number of police along the way—especially through Georgia. It was one of those
drives where you just keep thinking, “Are we there yet?”… even when you
know you’re not close.
But despite all of that… we made it.
Safe and sound.
And sometimes, that’s enough. Sometimes, that’s everything.
After we got here, we kept things simple. Did some shopping,
grabbed sandwiches for dinner—nothing fancy, just easy. Then, at 10 PM, my son
wanted to walk the beach.
It was dark. Windy. Not exactly ideal.
But we went anyway.
And there was something about that moment—walking under the
night sky, hearing the waves, feeling the air—that reminded me that not
everything meaningful has to be perfect.
Sometimes, it just has to be real.
After that, I finished unpacking, took a hot shower, and
completely crashed. Slept for ten hours straight. And let me tell you… sleep
like that hits different in your 40s. 😅
Sleeping in a car? That’s for the younger ones. I felt that in
my soul.
But waking up the next day? That was different.
Lighter. Rested. Present.
And sometimes, that reset is exactly what we didn’t even
realize we needed.
The Beauty of Simple Moments We Often Overlook 🌅
The next morning, we had a beautiful brunch. Nothing rushed.
Nothing forced. Just enjoying the moment.
We did some laundry, took a walk, and made our way to a pond
that’s been part of our visits here for years.
My son loves feeding the turtles there. It’s one of those
small traditions that becomes something bigger over time—something grounding,
something familiar.
This time, there was also a duck… but he wasn’t interested in
us at all. Kept his distance like, “Y’all can keep that energy over there.”
🦆
But then something unexpected happened.
Something that stopped me in my tracks.
There was a black bird flying nearby, and I noticed it because
it was carrying something. It perched on a building, then flew closer to us…
and dropped a dead snake right on the deck.
Yes. A snake. 🐍
And then—it didn’t leave.
It flew to the other side of the deck… and just looked at me.
Now, if you know me, you know I feed animals. It’s something
I’ve always loved. It brings me peace, connection, joy.
But this?
This was the first time an animal brought something to me
first.
It felt… intentional.
So, I responded.
I gave him some dried worms.
And he walked right up and ate them.
No hesitation.
And then, as if he told his family, two smaller birds came by.
Curious. Watching. Trusting.
I fed them too.
And I can’t fully explain it… but something about that
interaction touched me deeply.
It felt like connection without words.
Like recognition.
And in that moment, I felt honored.
Because I truly believe animals sense energy. They feel what
we carry. And when they approach you with trust—it means something.
It reminded me that connection doesn’t always come in the ways
we expect.
Sometimes, it shows up quietly.
Unexpectedly.
And beautifully.
The Power of Water, Emotion, and Inner Alignment 🌊
Later, we walked the beach.
My son played in the waves, letting the water rush over his
feet, laughing as it came and went. And I stayed back a bit—watching.
The ocean.
The waves.
The vastness of it all.
And I just… breathed.
For the first time in a while, I really breathed.
You see, I’m a Cancer—a cardinal water sign.
And what that means, in simple terms, is this:
I feel deeply.
I lead with emotion.
I create, protect, and nurture from a place of intuition.
Cancer energy isn’t passive like people sometimes assume.
It’s initiating.
It’s the energy that creates emotional safety, builds
foundations, and protects what matters most.
It’s the kind of energy that says, “I will create a space
where love can exist—and I will guard it fiercely.”
And water… water is powerful.
It gives life. It sustains us. It reflects us.
Our bodies are made mostly of water. Our emotions flow like
water. Our healing often comes through allowing things to move—rather than
holding them in place.
And standing there, watching the ocean, I was reminded of
something important:
You don’t control the waves.
But you can learn how to stand within them.
You can respect their power without fearing them.
You can allow their rhythm to teach you something about your
own.
Because just like the ocean—your emotions are not meant to be
suppressed.
They are meant to move.
To rise.
To fall.
To release.
And in that moment, I realized just how much I had been
carrying.
More than I admitted. More than I allowed myself to feel.
But standing there… I felt lighter.
Not because everything was fixed.
But because I finally gave myself permission to pause.
Stepping Out of Survival Mode and Into Self-Worth 🌱
As I walked the beach, I had my music playing.
And a song came on that hit differently in that moment.
“Gorgeous” by Qveen Herby.
And something about it… just landed.
The message. The energy. The honesty.
It speaks about stepping out of hiding. About facing your own
greatness. About questioning if you’ve wasted time—and choosing to keep going
anyway.
And I felt that.
Deeply.
Because if I’m being honest… I’ve been in survival mode for a
long time.
Keeping my circle small. Staying guarded. Holding things in.
Not because I didn’t care—but because it felt safer that way.
It felt easier than letting people in.
Easier than being seen.
Easier than risking disappointment or hurt.
But survival mode isn’t where we’re meant to stay.
It’s where we pass through.
And eventually… something in you starts to shift.
You start to realize that you deserve more than just getting
by.
You deserve joy.
You deserve connection.
You deserve to be seen—not just for what you’ve been through, but for who you
are.
And that message?
It’s not just for me.
It’s for you too.
No matter who you are—male, female, however you identify—
You are worthy.
You are valuable.
You are enough.
And yes… you are gorgeous.
Not just on the outside.
But in your spirit.
In your resilience.
In your ability to keep going, even when it’s hard.
Affirmations 🌿

✨ I trust the timing of my healing
and my growth.
✨ I recognize my worth and embrace
my inner and outer beauty.
Bible Verse 📖
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
This verse feels especially meaningful in moments like this.
Because sometimes, we don’t even realize how tired we are
until we finally stop.
Until we finally rest.
God doesn’t ask us to carry everything alone.
He invites us to release.
To come as we are—tired, overwhelmed, unsure—and receive
peace.
And that kind of rest? It’s deeper than sleep.
It’s soul-level restoration.
🎵 Song of
the Day 🎶
“Gorgeous” by Qveen Herby (Explicit)
This song is bold, raw, and empowering.
At its core, it speaks about stepping out of fear and into
your truth. About recognizing your own greatness—even when you’ve doubted it.
Even when life made you question your path.
It touches on healing, breaking through limiting beliefs, and
transforming pain into power.
There’s a strong message of self-worth woven through it—a
reminder that you don’t have to shrink yourself to fit into spaces that don’t
recognize your value.
And when she says “we’re so gorgeous”… it’s not just
about appearance.
It’s about presence.
Energy.
Confidence.
Authenticity.
It’s about owning who you are—fully and unapologetically.
And standing on that beach, listening to it… I felt that
shift.
From surviving… to slowly stepping back into living.
Final Thoughts 🌙
Today wasn’t perfect.
The journey here wasn’t smooth.
There were delays, frustrations, moments that tested my
patience.
But there were also quiet moments of beauty.
Unexpected connection.
Simple joy.
A breath that felt deeper than the last.
And sometimes… that’s what healing looks like.
Not grand transformations.
But small, meaningful moments that remind you who you are.
So, wherever you are today—whether you’re overwhelmed,
healing, or just trying to get through—
I hope you find a moment to pause.
To breathe.
To notice something small and beautiful.
And to remember this:
You are not just surviving.
You are still becoming.
And there is beauty in that process. 🤍
With love, always,
Angel
