Called to Serve: Living Your Faith, On Stage or Behind the Scenes

Called to Serve: Living Your Faith, On Stage or Behind the Scenes
🤍✨

By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive

Hello beautiful souls 🤍✨

I’m so grateful you’re here.

There are moments in life that feel small on the surface… but carry something deeper within them. Moments that seem ordinary, familiar, even routine—but somehow leave a lasting imprint on your heart.

This past Easter was one of those moments for me.

While visiting, I had the opportunity to help my dad at church. I worked behind the scenes—running the PowerPoint for the Good Friday service, handling the computer, making sure everything flowed the way it was supposed to.

And as I sat there, quietly doing what needed to be done…

I realized something.

I wasn’t just helping.

I was walking in something that had been part of my life all along.

Because growing up, my dad was always the one behind the scenes. The one making sure everything worked. The one making sure the message could be delivered clearly. The one who didn’t need the spotlight… but made sure everything in the spotlight could shine.

And without even realizing it, I had learned to love that space too.

Not the stage.
Not the attention.

But the purpose behind it all.

And maybe that’s where this message begins today:

You don’t have to be front and center to be walking in your calling. 🤍

There Is Purpose in Every Position 🤍

We live in a world that often celebrates visibility.

The loudest voices.
The biggest platforms.
The most seen, most followed, most recognized.

And while there is nothing wrong with being in those spaces…

it can sometimes make us feel like if we’re not there, we’re somehow doing less.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Because purpose is not defined by position.

It’s defined by obedience.

It’s defined by willingness.

It’s defined by the quiet “yes” you give when God places something on your heart.

I’ve shared before that I’ve never really been someone who naturally gravitates toward the front stage. That doesn’t mean I can’t speak. It doesn’t mean I won’t step up when needed.

But it’s not where I feel most at home.

And for a long time, I didn’t fully understand that.

Until I did.

Because there is something deeply meaningful about being behind the scenes.

About serving without needing recognition.
About contributing without needing applause.
About showing up simply because it matters.

And here’s the truth:

God uses every role.

The one speaking.
The one leading.
The one organizing.
The one supporting.

Every part matters.

Every role has purpose.

Every act of service carries impact.

Even this blog—this space right here—is, in a way, my version of stepping forward. Not in the traditional sense. Not on a stage with a microphone.

But through words.
Through reflection.
Through connection.

And I’ve come to understand that sometimes…

God will meet you exactly where you are—and use you exactly how you’re built. 🤍✨

The Power of the Resurrection: Freedom, Not Perfection

As I sat in service on Sunday, listening to my dad’s sermon about the impact of the resurrection… something settled deeply in my spirit.

Because while Easter, for many, is filled with traditions—family dinners, egg hunts, celebration…

In my childhood, it was always known as something more.

Resurrection Sunday.

A reminder of the sacrifice.
A reminder of the love.
A reminder of the price that was paid.

Because at the center of our faith is this truth:

God sent His only Son.

He endured suffering.
He carried the weight of sin that was never His to carry.
He gave His life… for us.

And then—

He rose again.

Not just as a moment in history…

But as a living promise.

A promise that we are not bound by our past.
A promise that we are not defined by our mistakes.
A promise that we are offered grace, freely given.

I remember watching The Passion of the Christ years ago. Just once. And that was enough.

Because seeing it…

really seeing it…

it changes something in you.

It takes a story you’ve heard and brings it into a reality you can feel.

And it hurts.

Not in a distant way.
But in a deeply personal way.

Because you realize—

That was done out of love.

For you.
For me.
For all of us.

But here’s where many people get it twisted…

We think that accepting that gift means we now have to be perfect.

That we have to suddenly have it all together.

That we have to never mess up again.

And that’s not the truth.

God doesn’t expect perfection.

He already knows we are human.
He already knows we will fall short.
He already knows we are still growing.

What He desires…

is relationship.

A heart that turns toward Him.
A willingness to walk with Him.
A desire to live differently—not out of pressure, but out of love.

Living holy does not mean living flawlessly.

It means living intentionally.

It means being set apart—not removed from the world, but rooted in something deeper than it.

It looks like:

• Choosing love when it’s easier to respond with anger
• Practicing self-control in moments of frustration
• Speaking with kindness instead of reacting harshly
• Serving others without expecting anything in return

It’s a daily journey.

A process of becoming.

A life shaped not by perfection…

but by transformation.

And that transformation doesn’t come from willpower alone.

It comes from the Holy Spirit working within you—guiding you, correcting you, strengthening you, and gently leading you back when you drift.

Because holiness isn’t about proving yourself worthy.

It’s about living in response to a love that already made you worthy. 🤍✨

Planting Seeds, Not Forcing Growth 🌱

There is something else that has been placed on my heart, especially through this journey of writing and sharing.

And it’s this:

You are not responsible for how people receive what you share.
You are only responsible for sharing it.

This blog didn’t come from a grand plan.

It came from a feeling.
A nudge.
A quiet pull that I couldn’t ignore.

And now, looking back, I see it clearly.

That was God.

Placing something in my heart that was meant to be shared in a way that felt natural to me.

Because not everyone is called to stand on a stage.
Not everyone is called to travel the world.

But everyone is called…

to do something.

To speak when led.
To act when prompted.
To share when moved.

And sometimes, that “something” is as simple as a conversation.

A kind word.
A moment of honesty.
A testimony of what God has done in your life.

And this part of the message… it’s especially on my heart.

Because this space is not just for those who already walk closely with Jesus.

It’s also for those who feel a pull…
A curiosity…
A quiet nudge to seek something more.

If that’s you—

I want you to know something deeply important:

You don’t have to have it all figured out to come to God.

You don’t need a perfect past.
You don’t need perfect words.
You don’t even need to step inside a church building.

You can meet Him right where you are.

In your home.
In your room.
In a quiet moment where your heart is open.

If you feel ready, it can be as simple as a sincere prayer from your heart. Something like:

“God, I know I’ve made mistakes, and I need Your grace. I believe that Jesus gave His life for me and rose again. I choose to receive Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord. Please guide me and help me grow in You. Amen.”

It doesn’t have to sound perfect.

It just has to be real.

Because God hears the honesty in your heart more than the words on your lips.

And when you make that choice…

you step into something eternal.

Not because you suddenly become flawless—

but because you are fully loved, fully seen, and fully accepted.

He already knows you will make mistakes.

And He loves you anyway.

Always.

This is not about pressure.
It’s about invitation.

It’s about planting a seed.

Because some may not know.
And some may simply need to be reminded.

I know for me…

God has shown up in my life more times than I can count.

Pulled me back when I felt lost.
Held me together when I felt like I was falling apart.
Spoke to me in moments I didn’t even realize I needed it.

And I truly believe this:

We receive messages not just for ourselves…
but to share with others who may need them too.

That’s what this past Sunday did for me.

It reminded me.
It grounded me.
It gave me something to carry forward and pass on.

So, whether you are walking firmly in your faith…
or just beginning to explore it…

You are seen.
You are welcome.
You are loved.

And your journey matters. 🌱🤍

Affirmations for Faith, Purpose, and Calling 🤍✨

Take a deep breath and let these words settle into your spirit:

• I am called to serve in the way God designed me.
• My role matters, whether seen or unseen.
• I do not need to be perfect to walk in purpose.
• I trust God to use my life to plant meaningful seeds.
• I walk in freedom, knowing I am loved and redeemed.
• I allow God to guide my steps with grace and intention.

Bible Verse 🤍

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
— John 14:6

This verse is a foundation.

A reminder that Jesus is not just a part of the path—

He is the path.

In a world filled with confusion, noise, and endless directions…

this truth brings clarity.

It reminds us that we are not wandering aimlessly.

That there is a way.
A truth.
A life that leads us back to the Father.

And that way is not something we have to earn.

It has already been made available to us—through grace, through sacrifice, through love.

All we have to do…

is accept it. 🤍

🎵 Song of the Day 🎶

“Free at Last” by DC Talk

🎧 Listen here

This song carries such a powerful message of transformation and freedom.

At its core, it speaks about what it truly means to be set free—not just in a physical sense, but spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

It reflects the journey so many of us walk…

From feeling lost…
From carrying weight…
From being stuck in patterns, pain, or past mistakes…

To finally experiencing freedom through Christ.

One of the most powerful themes in this song is the idea of release.

Letting go of who you were.
Letting go of what held you back.
Letting go of the identity that was shaped by struggle.

And stepping into something new.

A new life.
A new identity.
A new sense of purpose.

It also reminds us that this transformation doesn’t come from our own strength alone.

It comes from surrender.

From falling to your knees and saying, “I can’t do this on my own.”

And in that surrender…

freedom is found.

The song carries a message that echoes deeply:

You are not stuck.
You are not too far gone.
You are not beyond redemption.

There is always a way back.

There is always grace available.

There is always freedom waiting for you.

And once you experience that freedom…

something shifts.

You don’t want to go back.

You don’t want to live the same way you once did.

Because you’ve tasted something better.

Something real.
Something lasting.

And that…

is what it means to be truly free. 🤍🎶

Final Thoughts 🤍✨

If there is one thing I hope you take with you from today, it’s this:

You are called, exactly as you are.

You don’t have to be the loudest voice.
You don’t have to be the most visible.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.

You simply have to be willing.

Willing to serve.
Willing to grow.
Willing to share what has been placed on your heart.

Because whether you are on the stage…

or behind the scenes…

your role matters.

Your life carries purpose.
Your story carries meaning.
Your faith carries impact.

And even when you can’t see it…

God is using it.

With you in every step of this journey,
in every moment of growth,
and in every space where your purpose continues to unfold…
