God Only Knows: A Sacred Sunday Reflection

Today is Sunday, July 27, 2025 — a sacred day of rest, renewal, and rejoicing in divine grace. A day gifted to us not for doing, but for being. Rooted in the Genesis creation story, we are reminded that even God, after six days of wonder and work, chose to pause — to breathe, to bless, and to rest. 🙏

Yet, let’s be real: rest isn’t always easy to find. Life tugs at us with endless demands — responsibilities, distractions, heartaches. And in the noise, we often forget to slow down and simply sit in the stillness with God.

🌱 When Life Crowds Out Faith

Sometimes we drift. Sometimes we forget. And sometimes, we were never shown what it meant to walk in faith in the first place. But grace has a gentle way of calling us back — like a whisper in the wind reminding us that we are seen, held, and unconditionally loved.

Faith doesn’t require perfection. It asks only for presence — a willingness to open your heart again and again. To turn toward the sacred, even if it’s with trembling hands.

👣 My Journey: From Church Halls to Holy Moments

My relationship with God — with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit — was shaped early. My upbringing wasn’t conventional by today’s standards. I didn’t carve my first pumpkin until after my son was born. Halloween for me meant church services, not costumes and candy. Instead of Girl Scouts, I was in Missionettes — a ministry that taught us how to be women of faith and integrity.

Those roots became my foundation. And while they didn’t protect me from life’s storms, they gave me a compass. A place to return to when the world felt unsteady.

🎭 Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames: A Childhood Memory

I still remember one vivid night from my early years. My father was helping produce a play called Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames. I was just four, and let me tell you — it rocked me. I didn’t understand it all, but I felt the weight of eternity in my tiny bones.

What stayed with me wasn’t fear — it was the sacred importance of the choices we make, the lives we touch, and the love we show.

✨ Golden Rules & Earthly Rants

To this day, I try to live by a simple, golden principle: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Matthew 7:12)

That means choosing kindness over criticism. Integrity over impulse. Love over fear. Even in small things — like not littering. (Seriously, the Earth isn’t your trash can. Let’s do better. Find a bin. 🙃)
