Reflections on Freedom: Embracing the Spirit of July 4th
🎆 Reflections on Freedom: Embracing the Spirit of July 4th 🎆
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive
Hello beautiful soul 💫
Tomorrow is the 4th of July—a day traditionally filled with
fireworks, food, family, and festive celebration. Across the country, cities
and small towns alike will gather under the canvas of the night sky to watch
explosions of color light up the air. Music will echo from speakers, grills
will sizzle with savory delights, and red, white, and blue will wave proudly in
honor of America’s Independence Day.
Whether this is your first time visiting, or you’re a
returning reader, I want to thank you for being here. I’m so grateful you took
time out of your day to revisit this sacred space we’re creating together. AMC
Rise and Thrive isn’t just a blog—it’s a movement of light, intention, healing,
and rising. And today, I want to invite you to reflect deeper.
Because while July 4th is celebrated across the nation as a
symbol of political freedom, I believe it’s also a beautiful opportunity to
reconnect with our personal and spiritual freedom.
🕊️ What
Does Freedom Really Mean to You?
I ask myself this question every year around this time:
What does freedom truly mean to me now, in this
season of my life?
For many, freedom is associated with external liberty—freedom
of speech, freedom of religion, the right to vote, the right to gather. These
freedoms matter deeply, of course. But when I zoom inward, I find another
layer. A more intimate kind of liberation.
Freedom of the soul.
Freedom to speak your truth.
Freedom to choose joy, even in difficult times.
Freedom to walk away from toxic patterns, people, or beliefs.
Freedom to rise—again and again.
You see, we’re often bound not by laws or governments, but by
invisible chains: the expectations of others, unhealed wounds, generational
trauma, self-doubt, shame, or the fear of being too much—or not enough.
But what if this 4th of July, you gave yourself radical
permission to begin breaking those inner chains?
What if you decided today that your freedom wasn’t something
you had to earn, prove, or wait for—but something that already lives inside
you?
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.
Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of
slavery.”
— Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
This verse reminds me that we were created to live freely—not
bound by guilt, fear, or the lies of our past. Christ’s gift of freedom is not
just spiritual, but holistic. It invites us into wholeness, courage, and deep
soul liberation.
🔥
Fireworks as a Symbol of Your Inner Light
I love watching fireworks. There’s something absolutely
magical about them.
Each burst of color comes from a single, tiny spark. It
reminds me that the smallest light—when ignited with purpose—can illuminate the
darkest night sky.
Maybe right now, your light feels small.
Maybe you’re in a season of waiting, healing, or simply surviving.
Maybe you’re questioning if you have anything left to offer.
But I want to remind you:
You are already a firework.
Your light, your story, your truth—it’s powerful.
And you don’t need anyone’s permission to shine.
Let this 4th of July be more than just a celebration of a
nation. Let it be a celebration of you. Of your freedom. Of your worth.
Of your journey.
🎶 Song of
the Day: Firework by Katy Perry
There’s a reason I chose Katy Perry’s Firework for
today’s post. The lyrics speak directly to the soul that’s been feeling small
or invisible. It’s a reminder that the light is already within you. You just
have to believe you’re worthy enough to let it out.
“You don’t have to feel like a wasted space. You're original,
cannot be replaced.”
— Firework, Katy Perry
You were never meant to be hidden. You were born to shine.
Even if your sparkle looks different than someone else’s—it’s still divine.
💖 A Gentle
Invitation for Your Soul
As you enjoy this holiday—whether it’s with family, friends,
or simply in peaceful solitude—I invite you to do more than just celebrate
tradition.
Celebrate transformation.
Celebrate freedom.
Celebrate you.
Here are a few soulful rituals you might try:
🌟 Light
a candle and set an intention.
Let it represent the light within you. Ask, “What am I ready to release? What
am I ready to ignite?”
🌟 Write
down what you want to let go of.
Burn it safely in a fireproof dish and watch your burdens turn to ash. Let this
be your moment of release.
🌟 Speak
your truth—even if your voice shakes.
Call a friend, journal, or whisper it to the stars. Your truth deserves space.
🌟 Dance
under the fireworks.
Let your body be a vessel of joy. Feel the rhythm of freedom in every step.
✨
Affirmation of the Day
“I am free to be fully myself. I release all that
no longer serves me and rise in my truth, my light, and my divine purpose.”
Say it aloud. Write it in your journal. Repeat it when you
feel small. Let it root itself in your spirit.
🎇 Final
Thoughts
So yes, tomorrow is the 4th of July—a day filled with food,
fun, family, and tradition. But I hope it’s also a day of quiet, holy
reflection for you.
Take a sacred pause. Ask yourself:
What does freedom mean to me now?
Where in my life am I still bound?
And what would it look like to live more freely in the days ahead?
Let this holiday spark something in your soul—not just
celebration, but a deeper call to liberation, joy, and self-ownership.
And please, whatever your plans include, remember to stay
safe. Fireworks are beautiful but powerful—just like you. Handle your light
with care, love, and reverence.
With love, sparkles, and soul,
Angel 🌟
