Creating Beauty in the Midst of Goodbye: Honoring Love Through What We Make
Creating Beauty in the Midst of Goodbye: Honoring Love Through What We Make
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive
Hello beautiful souls 🤍✨
Today I’m sitting in a space that feels both tender and
purposeful.
It’s a quiet kind of heaviness—not overwhelming, not
chaotic—but steady. The kind that lingers in the background of everything you
do. The kind that gently reminds you that something meaningful is unfolding,
even when it doesn’t feel easy.
Right now, my hands are busy… but my heart is still
processing.
There is something sacred about this space I’m in. A space
where grief and love meet. Where action and emotion exist side by side. Where I
am both creating and letting go at the same time.
I’ve been working on crafts and putting together a slideshow
for my friend’s service. And as I’ve been moving through each detail—photo by
photo, color by color, memory by memory—I’ve come to understand something
deeper about myself.
This is how I grieve.
Not just through tears.
Not just through silence.
But through creation. 🎨
Because when words fall short…
creation becomes my language.
Creating as a Way to Love 🤍🎨
There is something deeply healing about creating when your
heart feels heavy.
It’s not just about staying busy. It’s not about avoiding
emotions or filling time. It’s about expression. It’s about taking feelings
that are too big to carry quietly… and giving them somewhere to live.
A color.
A photo.
A design.
A moment captured and honored.
As I’ve been working on these pieces, I keep thinking about
what she wanted.
She said she wanted something colorful. 🌈
And that stayed with me.
Because color is life.
It’s personality.
It’s energy.
It’s spirit.
And even in a moment of goodbye… life deserves to be honored
in a way that reflects the fullness of who someone was.
Normally, if I were fully in charge, I would decorate the
entire space. That’s something that comes naturally to me. It’s where I feel
most aligned with my creativity, my attention to detail, and my desire to make
things feel meaningful.
But this time… my role looks different.
And that has been a lesson in itself.
Because sometimes honoring someone doesn’t look like doing
everything. Sometimes it looks like doing what you can, where you are,
with what you’ve been given.
The slideshow is done.
The crafts are coming together. (thank you pinterest)
The intention is present.
And that is enough.
Because love doesn’t require perfection.
It doesn’t require control.
It doesn’t require everything to go the way we envisioned.
Love simply asks us to show up.
And in every detail I create, there is love woven into it.
Not for recognition.
Not for validation.
But because it is the most honest way I know how to say…
“You mattered.” 🤍
The Healing Power of Staying Busy 🌿
I’ve always been someone who keeps moving.
When life gets heavy, I don’t always stop—I shift. I redirect.
I find something to pour my energy into.
And right now, that looks like creating, organizing,
preparing, and getting everything ready for what’s ahead.
Because the truth is… we all cope differently.
There is no one right way to move through grief.
No perfect formula.
No universal timeline.
Some people need stillness.
Some need conversation.
Some need solitude.
And some, like me, need movement.
Keeping my hands busy gives my mind a place to rest.
It allows my emotions to move through me in a way that feels
manageable. Not suppressed. Not ignored. But paced.
There is wisdom in that.
Grief doesn’t need to be forced.
It doesn’t need to be unraveled all at once.
It doesn’t need to make sense immediately.
It unfolds slowly…
in layers…
in moments…
And sometimes, the most compassionate thing you can do for
yourself is allow healing to happen in the way that feels most natural to you.
Even if it doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
So if you find yourself staying busy during a difficult time…
give yourself grace.
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re doing what your heart knows how to do. 🤍
And sometimes, that quiet movement…
is what carries you through.
Looking Forward While Holding the Present ✨
In the middle of all of this, there is another layer unfolding
in my life.
I am preparing to leave town.
And even that comes with its own energy—packing, planning,
organizing, making sure everything is in place before I go. But beyond the
logistics… there is something deeper waiting for me on the other side of that
trip.
By Friday, I’ll be at my dad and second mom’s house. 🏡
And there is something about that that already brings a sense
of comfort to my spirit.
Because home is not just a place.
It’s a feeling.
It’s familiarity.
It’s safety.
It’s being around people who understand you without needing explanations.
And even more than that… my ride or die will be with me all
next week. 🤍
That kind of connection is rare.
It’s the kind where you don’t have to fill every silence.
You don’t have to explain your emotions.
You don’t have to perform or pretend.
You just get to exist.
And right now, that feels like a gift.
There are moments ahead that I’m looking forward to—getting my
hair done, laughing, resting, reconnecting. Small things, maybe… but meaningful
in ways that are hard to put into words.
Because even in grief… life still offers light.
Moments that remind you:
Joy hasn’t disappeared.
Healing is still possible.
You are allowed to feel more than just sadness.
Right now, I’m holding both.
The weight of loss…
and the hope of what’s ahead.
And maybe that’s what balance really looks like.
Not choosing one or the other…
but allowing both to exist. 🌿✨
Because healing isn’t about leaving grief behind.
It’s about learning how to carry it…
while still allowing yourself to live.
Honoring Love in the Details 🤍
As I continue creating and preparing, I keep coming back to
one simple truth:
This is how I honor her.
Through the details.
Through the effort.
Through the intention behind everything I make.
Because when someone we love leaves this world, we are left
with a choice.
We can let the loss define the ending…
or we can let love define the legacy.
And for me, that legacy is built in small, meaningful ways.
In the way I choose colors that reflect her spirit.
In the way I piece together memories into something tangible.
In the way I make sure that even in goodbye… there is beauty present.
Because beauty doesn’t erase grief.
But it reminds us of love.
And love… is what remains.
It remains in every memory.
Every story.
Every shared moment.
Every piece of who we’ve become because of them.
That kind of love doesn’t end.
It evolves.
It expands.
It continues in ways we don’t always see—but deeply feel.
And that is something no loss can ever take away. 🤍
Affirmations for Healing, Expression, and Peace 🤍✨
Take a deep breath and let these words settle gently into your
spirit:
• I allow myself to heal in the way that feels natural to me.
• My way of coping is valid and worthy of compassion.
• I honor my love by expressing it in meaningful ways.
• I can hold grief and hope at the same time.
• I trust that healing unfolds in divine timing.
• God is present with me in every moment, guiding me forward.
Bible Verse 🤍
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
There is something deeply comforting in this truth.
Because it reminds us that healing is not something we have to
force or figure out on our own.
God meets us exactly where we are.
Not where we think we should be.
Not where others expect us to be.
But right here… in the middle of our process.
He sits with us in the quiet moments.
He holds us in the heavy ones.
And gently, patiently… He begins to restore what feels fragile within us.
So even when you don’t feel like you’re healing…
trust that you are. 🤍
🎵 Song of
the Day 🎶
“Thank You for Being a Friend” by Cynthia Fee The
Golden Girls Theme song
This song carries a kind of warmth that feels especially
meaningful in a moment like this. It speaks to connection, loyalty, and the
kind of friendship that leaves a lasting imprint on your life.
At its core, the message is simple but powerful: gratitude for
the people who walk beside us. The ones who show up. The ones who stay. The
ones who become part of our story in a way that never fades.
It’s a reminder that friendship is one of life’s greatest
gifts. Not because it lasts forever in a physical sense… but because of how
deeply it touches our hearts while it’s here.
And even after someone is gone, that impact doesn’t disappear.
It lives on in who we are.
In how we love.
In how we remember.
So today, this song isn’t just music.
It’s a thank you.
A reflection.
A quiet acknowledgment of a bond that will always matter. 🤍
Final Thoughts 🤍✨
This season has been one of quiet transformation.
I am creating.
I am preparing.
I am remembering.
I am healing.
All at the same time.
And if there’s one thing I’ve come to understand through all
of this, it’s this:
There is no single way to move through grief.
There is only your way.
So whether you find yourself creating, resting, crying,
laughing, or simply trying to get through the day…
Give yourself grace.
You are navigating something deeply human.
And you are doing it in the way your heart knows best.
With you in every moment of love, loss, and quiet healing,
Angel 🤍
