How Faith Sustains Me in Doubt
How Faith Sustains Me in Doubt
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and
Thrive
Hello beautiful souls,
Today I want to speak about something deeply human—something
many of us experience but don’t always talk about openly.
Doubt.
Not the kind of doubt that makes us lose faith entirely, but
the kind that quietly whispers during difficult seasons. The kind that appears
when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or simply heavier than we expected it
to be.
If we are honest with ourselves, there are moments in every
life where we look ahead and realize we truly don’t know what is coming next.
The path becomes unclear.
Plans change.
Unexpected challenges appear.
And suddenly we find ourselves standing in a space where the
future feels uncertain.
I’ve had many moments like that in my life.
Moments where it felt like one challenge appeared after
another. Just when one situation settled, another one arrived waiting at the
door.
And while someone looking from the outside might say, “Well,
it could be worse,” that doesn’t always make the weight feel lighter when
you’re the one carrying it.
Because when life piles things on your shoulders one piece at
a time, even manageable struggles can start to feel overwhelming.
But through all of those moments, one thing has remained
constant for me.
My faith.
Not a perfect faith.
Not a faith without questions.
But a faith that continues to guide me even when I cannot
clearly see where the road leads.
And today I want to share a little about how that faith
sustains me—even in moments of doubt.
When Life Feels Like One Challenge After Another
There are seasons when life feels balanced and steady.
And then there are seasons when it feels like everything is
happening all at once.
Many of us have experienced those stretches of time where
challenges appear back-to-back.
A stressful situation at home.
Unexpected financial strain.
Health issues.
Emotional stress.
Family responsibilities.
Or simply the exhaustion that comes from carrying many roles
at once.
Sometimes life can feel like standing in the middle of a storm
where each gust of wind brings another problem to solve.
And during those moments, it can be incredibly difficult to
maintain a positive outlook.
Even the most optimistic person can begin to feel worn down
when difficulties continue to appear.
The truth is, being strong does not mean you never feel
overwhelmed.
It simply means you keep moving forward even when the road
becomes difficult.
And for me, the strength to keep moving forward does not come
from believing I can handle everything on my own.
Because the reality is—I can’t.
No one can.
There are limits to what human strength can carry.
That’s where faith enters the picture.
Faith reminds me that I am not walking through life alone.
Faith reminds me that even when I cannot see the outcome,
there is a greater plan unfolding beyond what I can understand.
And sometimes that reminder is enough to help me take the next
step.
Learning to Lean on Something Greater
For a long time, I had the mindset that I needed to figure
everything out myself.
I believed that if something went wrong, it was my
responsibility to fix it.
If a problem appeared, I needed to solve it.
If something felt uncertain, I needed to plan my way through
it.
And in many ways, that mindset helped me develop strength and
resilience.
But over time, I realized something important.
Strength does not mean carrying everything alone.
Strength sometimes means knowing when to lean on something
greater than yourself.
For me, that greater presence is God.
There have been moments in my life where I truly did not know
how things would work out.
Moments when I stood in uncertainty and wondered what the next
step was supposed to be.
And yet, somehow, the path always revealed itself when it was
time.
Sometimes through a conversation.
Sometimes through an opportunity.
Sometimes through people who entered my life at exactly the
right moment.
Those moments remind me that divine guidance often works
quietly.
It doesn’t always appear with dramatic signs or loud
announcements.
Sometimes it simply shows up as the next open door.
Or the right person arriving when you need support.
Or a moment of clarity that helps you see things from a new
perspective.
Faith allows me to trust that even when I don’t understand the
full picture, there is something larger guiding the journey.
Embracing My Imperfect Human Nature
One of the things I’ve learned about faith is that it does not
require perfection.
In fact, faith often grows strongest in the middle of our
imperfections.
I am not a perfect person.
I know that about myself.
I can be pushy sometimes.
I can take over situations when I think something needs to get
done.
I have a natural tendency to step in and try to fix things
before they spiral out of control.
Part of that comes from how I navigate the world.
My love language is acts of service.
I show love by helping.
By preparing.
By anticipating what someone might need before they even ask.
If someone is struggling, my instinct is to step in and make
things easier for them.
Sometimes that means offering my time.
Sometimes it means offering my skills.
Sometimes it means organizing and preparing so that problems
are solved before they happen.
There is a part of my personality that naturally tries to stay
three steps ahead of life.
Some people might call that planning.
Others might call it over-preparing.
But for me, it’s simply how I navigate uncertainty.
I may not be able to control everything that happens in life.
But I can control how I choose to respond to it.
And that is an important difference.
Because life will always include things we cannot control.
But our response—our mindset, our choices, our actions—remains
within our reach.
Faith reminds me that my role is not to control the entire
journey.
My role is simply to walk it with integrity, courage, and
trust.
The Blessing of People Who Truly See Us
Another way faith sustains me is through the people God has
placed in my life.
I have been incredibly fortunate to find individuals who truly
see me for who I am.
Not a polished version.
Not a perfect version.
But the real version.
The one with flaws.
The one who sometimes takes charge too quickly.
The one who occasionally overthinks situations.
The one who tries very hard to take care of others.
And they love me anyway.
Those kinds of relationships are rare and incredibly valuable.
Because when someone accepts you as you are—perfectly
imperfect—you begin to understand something powerful.
You do not need to pretend in order to be loved.
You do not need to hide the messy parts of your personality.
You simply need to be genuine.
Faith teaches us that God already sees us exactly as we are.
Our strengths.
Our weaknesses.
Our fears.
Our hopes.
Nothing is hidden.
And yet we are still loved.
That realization changes how we see ourselves.
It allows us to release the pressure of being flawless and
instead focus on becoming better, kinder, and more compassionate versions of
ourselves.
Affirmations for Strength Through Faith
If you are walking through a season of uncertainty, take a
moment to breathe and reflect on these affirmations.
• I trust that God is guiding my path even when I cannot see
the destination.
• I release the pressure to control everything.
• My faith gives me strength during uncertain seasons.
• I am supported by divine guidance and meaningful relationships.
• I honor my perfectly imperfect human journey.
• Each challenge I face helps shape the person I am becoming.
Bible Verse
Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.”
This verse has always resonated deeply with me because it
captures the heart of faith so beautifully.
It reminds us that we are not meant to understand everything.
Our human perspective is limited.
We see only the small portion of the path directly in front of
us.
But God sees the entire journey.
When we trust Him—even during moments of confusion or doubt—we
allow space for guidance that goes beyond our own limited understanding.
Faith does not eliminate uncertainty.
But it transforms how we walk through it.
🎵 Song of
the Day
“So Far Away” – Staind
Music often has a way of expressing emotions that are
difficult to put into words.
Today’s song, “So Far Away” by Staind, reflects the
feeling of looking back on life and realizing how much we have grown through
our struggles.
The lyrics speak about recognizing how past hardships shaped
the person we are today. They acknowledge mistakes, difficult seasons, and
moments of confusion—but they also highlight something important.
Growth.
The song reminds us that sometimes the struggles we once
believed were meaningless eventually reveal their purpose.
The pain begins to make sense.
The mistakes begin to fade into lessons.
And we realize that the person we have become is stronger
because of everything we endured.
One of the most powerful lines in the song reflects this
realization:
“I can forgive and I'm not ashamed to be the
person that I am today.”
That message aligns deeply with the journey of faith.
Because faith is not about pretending, we have lived perfect
lives.
It is about recognizing that every chapter—even the difficult
ones—has helped shape who we are becoming.
When we reach moments of reflection, we often realize that the
road behind us carried us much farther than we ever expected.
Final Thoughts
Faith is not about having every answer.
It is about continuing to trust even when the answers are not
clear.
Life will always include moments of doubt, uncertainty, and
unexpected challenges.
There will be days when the path forward feels confusing.
Days when you wonder how everything will work out.
But those moments do not mean you are alone.
Sometimes the most powerful form of faith is simply continuing
to take the next step.
Continuing to trust that the road will reveal itself.
Continuing to believe that even difficult seasons can lead to
growth, healing, and new beginnings.
With faith for every step ahead,
Angel 🤍
