Rise Up: You’ve Done It Before, and You Will Again
🌄 Rise Up: You’ve Done It Before, and You Will Again
By Angel, Founder of AMC Rise and Thrive
Hello beautiful soul 💛
Some seasons feel heavier than others.
Life doesn’t always warn us before the storm hits. Sometimes
it comes suddenly—an unexpected phone call, a diagnosis, a relationship that
shifts without notice—and suddenly everything familiar feels fragile. Other
times, it’s a slow build: the weight of responsibility, the endless lists, the
tiny cracks in our hearts that grow wider over time.
And then there are mornings when even getting out of bed feels
like a victory. When you sit on the edge of your bed staring at the floor,
summoning the courage to stand. When brushing your teeth, putting on shoes, or
making coffee feels like the most heroic thing you’ll do all day.
If you know that space—if you are living there right now—you
are not alone.
I am there too.
My mom is fighting cancer, and this season has asked more of
me than I thought I could give. It has changed everything about our rhythms. I
find myself being the advocate, the note-keeper, the one who has to remember
which medication was changed, which appointment is next, what questions to ask
when we sit across from the doctor. It is sacred work—but it is exhausting
work.
And the hardest part is not the logistics. It’s watching
someone you love, someone who gave you life, lose their strength and spirit
before your eyes. It’s wanting to scoop them up and carry them through this
valley, but knowing you can’t.
I love my mom more than words can hold, but this season has
required me to be firm with her. I can’t let her stop fighting. I remind her
daily that she matters, that her body still deserves care, that she is worth
every effort. I ask her to eat, to drink water, to stretch her legs, to keep
moving—because choosing to stop is also a choice.
Sometimes love looks soft and quiet, and sometimes love has to
put its foot down.
I’ve had to choose tough love—not coldness, not criticism, but
a steady voice that refuses to let her drift away without trying. Because as
much as I want to hold her hand gently, I also want to remind her that there is
still something worth fighting for.
If you’ve ever supported someone through illness, you know
this line well—the line between compassion and challenge, between holding space
for their pain and calling them to rise.
It is holy work. It is hard work.
Being the strong one isn’t glamorous. It’s lonely sometimes.
It can feel unfair. But sometimes love looks like being the one who refuses to
give up when everyone else has grown weary.
🌧 When
You Feel Like You’ve Got Nothing Left
Let’s be real.
There are days when life takes more than it gives.
When it feels like the universe has you on its radar for all the wrong reasons.
When every ounce of strength is spent just surviving, not thriving.
You show up, you smile, you nod—but inside, you’re crumbling.
You’re so tired of being the one who holds it all together.
You wonder if anyone would notice if you just stopped trying.
Maybe you’ve been there. Maybe you’re there right now.
If you are—pause.
Breathe deep.
Let the air remind you that you are still here, still breathing, still
becoming.
This moment is not the end of your story.
This is not the last page.
You are not forgotten. You are not invisible. And you are not
walking through this alone, even when it feels like the world has gone quiet
around you.
✨ You’ve
Risen Before
Pain has a way of making us forget how strong we are. It makes
us believe the lie that we’ve always been this fragile, that we’ve never known
how to overcome. But look back for a moment—really look.
You have risen before.
You have made it through nights you thought would swallow you
whole.
You have faced heartbreak and still found a way to love again.
You have smiled through tears and danced while your heart ached.
You have stood back up after falling, again and again.
That was not weakness.
That was grit. That was divine strength running through you like fire in your
veins.
You didn’t hold yourself up on those days—God did.
And if He did it then, He can do it now.
If you made it through before, you can do it again.
🙏 A
Word from the Word
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
This verse is my anchor right now.
Because strength doesn’t come from pretending, you’re okay or
pushing yourself past the breaking point. It comes from surrender.
When you can’t carry it anymore, hand it over. When the prayer
won’t come out, let the tears fall—God can translate them. When your faith
feels small, remember that even mustard-seed faith can move mountains.
You don’t have to do this in your own strength. You were never
meant to.
Just rise—slowly, imperfectly, one breath at a time.
🔥 Rising
Isn’t Always Loud
We often picture rising as a dramatic comeback—like fireworks,
like roaring applause. But most of the time, rising is quieter.
Sometimes rising looks like:
• Putting both feet on the floor and standing up even though your body aches
• Drinking a glass of water when all you want is to pull the covers over your
head
• Saying a kind word to yourself after you’ve fallen apart
• Choosing peace instead of proving your point
• Whispering a prayer when your faith feels paper-thin
Rising doesn’t have to look impressive.
It just has to be faithful.
Even a whisper of “I will try again tomorrow” is enough.
Even a shaky step is still forward.
💎 Affirmations
for Rising Again
Speak these over yourself as many times as you need. Let them
settle in your bones.
• I have risen before, and I will rise again.
• My strength is not gone—it is being renewed.
• I am exactly where I am meant to be in this moment.
• I am held by God, even when I feel forgotten.
• Every breath I take is a new beginning.
• Hope is not lost; it is quietly waiting for me to pick it up again.
• My courage is growing, even now.
🎶 Soulful
Soundtrack
“Rise Up” by Andra Day
There is a reason this song moves me to tears every time I
hear it. It’s not just about rising from the ashes—it’s about rising for the
people you love, rising for the future you still believe in, rising because
giving up is not the end of the story.
Let this song be your anthem. Play it when the house is quiet
and you need courage. Play it when the tears are streaming and you need
strength. Let it remind you that rising doesn’t mean you have to roar—it just
means you keep going.
💌 To
the Soul That Feels Heavy
I know what it’s like to feel like your best days are behind
you.
To wonder if you’ll ever feel light again.
To feel like you’re crawling instead of walking.
But I also know this:
You are not done.
You are not broken beyond repair.
You are not too far gone.
You are in the middle of the comeback story you will tell
someday.
You are standing in the valley before the victory.
And the same God who brought you through the fire before is
still here—still whispering your name, still holding you steady, still walking
you through this shadowed place toward the light.
Rise, beautiful soul. Not perfectly. Not all at once.
Just begin.
Even the smallest act of courage counts.
And I will be here, standing firm in your corner, cheering for
you with every breath.
Angel 💛
